Mid-century modern 1950s house. Breezy backyard deck. Quiet, dead-end street. Near Willamette River, walking / biking trails, downtown Milwaukie. Quick access by car or light rail to the best of Portland. * Good daylight, south-facing house * 1,100 square feet (see floor plan photo) * Main level of a house. Basement level is a separate living space with private entry on side of house. You would only see that occupant in shared laundry room or possibly outdoors coming and going. * Hardwood floors, cozy rugs, vintage modern furnishings PARKING is free in the driveway, off-street. Room for two cars side by side, plus a third behind them. Room for two more cars on-street directly in front of house. IMPORTANT! Maximum of 5 cars since impact on neighbors is too great. Consider carpooling or taking TriMet MAX light rail, a 5-10 min. walk away. BACK YARD elevated deck is private, but the rest of the yard is shared with basement resident(s). LAUNDRY ROOM available 8am-10pm, shared with basement resident(s). INTERNET SPEED Fast, cable WiFi at 200 Mbps download speed. Or up to 700 Mbps if you use an ethernet connection (coming soon).

Bedroom with single bed has a wide, white IKEA desk below south-facing window. Large enough for laptop and to spread out a bit.
Bedroom with double bed has a small, glass IKEA desk, large enough just for a laptop and a few papers.

IMPORTANT! Absolute maximum of 4-5 vehicles at one time (3 in driveway, 2 on-street in front of house). Otherwise, impact to neighbors is too great. Carpooling or using nearby MAX light rail is an option.

- Basically, treat the space as you would if staying with a family friend. You are required to have fun and relax, but... - FIREPLACE must not be used. - BATH TUB must not be used for a bath (only for showering). Risk of overflow and water damage is too great based on damage caused by past guests. - SHOES OFF indoors to reduce dirt on rugs and footstep noise for downstairs resident(s). - GUEST CLARITY: The person making the reservation must be the same person who plans to stay. If you're trying to book for a friend, business colleague, or family member, I need to know that in advance so we can discuss details. - NO PARTIES, but you're welcome to invite a few friends over to visit. - DON'T BURN IT DOWN. No candles, open flame, incense, or similar. - NO SMOKING indoors, ever. Outdoors is fine if you're considerate of anyone nearby and also clean up your butts and *safely* dispose of them. - NO VAPING indoors. - WEED: Using recreational cannabis? Please store it in your car or outdoors. The smell of raw bud is hard to get rid of for the next guest. - DO NOT ENTER private areas -- garage, basement furnace room, and basement rental unit. - SCENTS: Please be considerate about using perfumes and scents, since other guests would like to enjoy a relatively scent-free space (and it's hard to remove strong perfume smells from furniture). - CAR ALARMS and HORNS. If you're coming in a car that honks its horn every time you lock/unlock the doors, please look into how you can disable that feature, if possible. It's very disturbing to my neighbors when it happens late at night. -NO BACON: Delicious, but the airborne grease sticks to the walls and makes the place smell for weeks. Also a risk for stove fires. Instead, why not try the delicious maple bacon donut at Voodoo Donuts? Their new Oak Grove location is just one mile from the house. :-) - INTERNET: No downloading of illegal or pirated content using the Internet connection. - NO GUNS on the property. -CLEANLINESS: If you leave the place extra filthy like a rock star in a Las Vegas hotel room, you can expect an additional cleaning surcharge taken from your deposit. Treat the space as you would if staying with a family friend. Don't be gross or trash the place. - WAIVER. You assume all risk of injury, accident or illness on the property. You assume responsibility for any and all damage in excess of normal wear and tear. Despite that long list, I'm actually pretty chill. ;-) Thanks and enjoy your stay!
